Real Skills. Real confidence.

The AI Hackathon.

Building AI confidence across your organisation, using your tools, your policy and your people’s own challenges. The AI Hackathon is a three-part program where staff bring the task that eats their week, build a working AI prototype in cross-functional teams, and pitch it to a panel of their own leaders. It’s designed for mixed audiences, and no tech background is required.

Who This is For

  • Organisations that have rolled out AI tools but aren’t yet seeing people use them confidently
  • Leaders who want AI adoption to spread beyond a keen few
  • Teams with repetitive tasks that eat into their week
  • Mixed audiences across roles and levels, with no tech background needed
  • L&D and capability teams looking for hands-on learning that sticks

The Three-Part Journey

One day on its own creates enthusiasm. Three parts create change.

  1. Pre-Event Primer. Self-paced foundations ahead of the day: your approved tools, practical prompting, and the governance boundaries. Everyone arrives on the same page.
  2. Hackathon Day. A full facilitated day. Cross-functional teams take a challenge they nominated themselves, build a working prototype, and pitch it to a panel of your own leaders.
  3. Post-Event Showcase. Teams return after testing their prototype in the real world, share what happened, and agree next steps. This is what turns a good day into a measurable one.

Built Around Your System

Before anything is scheduled, I take your AI policy, your approved tool set and your governance rules, and build the program inside them. Your people learn to excel in your system, not a generic one.
They bring their own problems. Participants nominate themselves and bring the task that eats their week, which is why they care about the answer, and why the prototype gets used afterwards.

What They Walk Away With

  • Genuine AI confidence, earned hands-on
  • A working prototype to test and refine
  • Connections across roles and levels
  • A clear pathway forward
  • Advocacy and momentum for AI adoption

Client’s Success Story

Large Insurance Firm – AI Hackathon Pilot

Challenge

A large insurance firm engaged Bell Training Solutions to design and facilitate an AI Hackathon to increase AI adoption across the organisation. AI tools had been rolled out, but most staff were using them for little more than rewriting emails. Many weren’t sure what the tools could do for their own work, and some felt AI simply wasn’t for people like them.

Our Solution

A three-part AI Hackathon built inside the client’s AI policy, approved tools and governance rules. 25 participants nominated themselves, worked in cross-functional teams on challenges from their own work, and pitched working prototypes to a panel of their own leaders.

Resolution

23 participants returned for the showcase four weeks later, and 100% of them reported using AI more.

“I came to the session nervous. I assumed hackathons were for the techbros, but I left with confidence and practical skills.” – Participant
